Shade changes everything on the North Shore

The larger in-ground pools common across Killara, Pymble, Turramurra and Roseville need a properly sized heat pump to heat economically. Get the sizing wrong and you either never reach temperature or the running cost blows out, so sizing is the first thing we get right at the on-site assessment.

A heat pump suits the North Shore well because it does not care how leafy or shaded your block is, it simply holds the pool at the temperature you set. We mostly recommend the Austek Enviro range for its efficiency, and also install Madimack and Pure Blue where they are a better fit for the pool or budget.

‍Does tree cover and shade affect a pool heat pump?

Not really, and that is the advantage of a heat pump over older roof-based systems. It draws warmth from the air rather than the sun, so a shaded Killara or Pymble block is no problem. It heats reliably whatever the canopy is doing overhead.

Can you heat a large in-ground pool in Turramurra or St Ives efficiently?

Yes, with correct sizing. The bigger pools common up here are well suited to a correctly sized heat pump that runs efficiently and holds temperature. We work out the right capacity for your exact pool at the assessment so you are not under-powered or overspending.

Do you cover the Upper North Shore as well as Chatswood?

We do, the full North Shore, from Chatswood, Willoughby and Lane Cove up through Roseville, Lindfield and Gordon to Wahroonga and St Ives. Our central position keeps both installs and later servicing quick.

My older pool heater has failed, can you replace it?

Yes. Replacing an old or failed unit with a modern, efficient heat pump is a big part of what we do across the North Shore. We will assess what you have and advise whether a repair or a replacement makes more sense.
